We recommend bringing pesos ahead of time if possible, as the exchange rate in the airport is not the best. You can get cash out at any ATM, however we recommend doing this in La Paz, or Todo Santos at an actual bank if possible, as the fees are less and the exchange rate is better. That being said, there are ATM machines in El Sargento / La Ventana at the OXXO (gas station/convenience store), as well as inside Playa Central. Expect to pay in cash in pesos at restaurants and shops.
The festival bars will accept both Mexican pesos and US dollars to purchase food and drink. The current exchange rate is 16 pesos per 1 US dollar. Please bring pesos if possible - everything will go quicker
-
Many of our artists request a smoke free venue so we kindly ask smokers to utilize the smoking areas away from the venue. Please do not throw your butts on the beach.
-
Yes. Please bring an empty vessel to the venue. Do not bring any liquids into the festival.
-
Yes! La Tuna will be selling light bites in the upstairs section of the venue. Food tickets can be purchased with USD or Pesos.
-
No. La Tuna will be selling beer and cocktails from both the upstairs and downstairs venues. You will be denied access and may lose your festival pass if caught entering with alcohol or drugs.
-
We recommend joining the BajaWonderGrass Facebook Group, as well as signing up for the Ventana View Newsletter.
This will help answer any questions you have, and will give you some insight into what to expect out of La Ventana!
GETTING HERE
-
The festival will be held at La Tuna BCS C. Ramundo Aviles, El Teso, 23232 El Sargento, B.C.S., Mexico.
La Tuna is a beach side restaurant and bar.
-
There is no public transportation in La Ventana, so having your own car is definitely the easiest way to get around, especially if you choose to extend your trip and explore the region. Renting a car is not required, however. Many restaurants and convenience stores are within walking distance of the festival site. We do recommend renting an ATV or bicycle for easy transport from your lodging.

While you can fly into the airport at La Paz, the airport at Cabo San Lucas is the more affordable, and more direct option. From the airport, grab a private shuttle into El Sargento/La Ventana. Click here to learn more

We absolutely recommend driving down the coast to the festival. If you have the luxury of time, it is sure to be a beautiful adventure (we have done it several times!). Here are our top tips:
Be sure to purchase Mexican insurance. This is a great place for resources: https://www.discoverbaja.com/

•WinterWonderGrass allows ADA* recognized service animals trained specifically to assist a person with disabilities at all events. Animals whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the ADA and are not permitted at the festivals. If you have a certified service animal, you will be required to have your service animal with you at all times. Under the ADA, service animals must be harnessed, leashed or tethered, unless these devices interfere with the service animal’s work or the individual’s disability prevents using these devices.
*Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, the definition of “service animal” is limited to a dog (or pony) that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability who is in attendance. The task(s) performed by the dog must be directly related to the person’s disability. Under the ADA, “comfort,” “therapy” or “emotional support animals” do not meet the definition of a service animal. – U.S. Dept. of Justice
