Tram To Table, hosted by The Bluegrass Situation and Protect Our Winters, is a concert dinner series that takes place on the Thursday eve of WinterWonderGrass. The event is hosted by ThTicket buyers meet at the base of the tram with a super-group of artists from various bands on the festival lineup. As the tram ascends to the top of the mountain, the artists play as many songs as they can fit into the 15-minute ride. The ride up alone is worth the price of admission. The smiles on everyone’s faces said more than any description we could come up with. Where else do you get an opportunity for an intimate bluegrass pick with world-class musicians as you ride up a mountain to eat dinner with your friends?
For the first hour or so of the event, each of the WinterWonderGrass alcohol partners, Sierra Nevada, Stem Ciders, Long Meadow Ranch, and Tin Cup Whiskey, provide free tastings of their product line. The band, of course, plays throughout. It’s a great opportunity to mingle, meet new people, catch up with friends, eat some incredible passed appetizers.
Once the mingle and tastings are over, it’s dinnertime. If you’re into a mac ‘n’ cheese bar, fried chicken bar, farm fresh salads, and other tasty delights, well then you’ve found the right place.
Although everyone loves food and drinks, let’s talk about the real stars of the show: the all-star band.
The lineup is different for each event, so even if you become a Tram to Table regular, you’ll never see the same band twice. This year featured Daniel Rodriguez, Bridget Law & Daron Garvey (Elephant Revival), Andy Thorn (Leftover Salmon), Jeff Leonard (Fruition), Tyler Grant, Adam Gruehl, (Horseshoes & Hand Grenades), Megan Letts, and the last minute, surprise addition of Anders Beck.
But honestly, the photos say it all. Please join us next year in Steamboat and Tahoe 2020!
